The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce hosted a military recognition breakfast, on Sept. 7th, 2023. The annual event highlighted the enduring partnership between the VPCC and the military community.  During the event, Bob McKenna, VPCC president, noted five branches call the Peninsula home making the military a significant part of the community.

On Feb. 12, 2022, Senior Airman Kostiantyn Khymchenko’s life took an unexpected but welcomed turn when he received a vital phone call. “Hello?” he greeted. On the line was Master Sgt. Aaron Washington, 633d Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation, and cooling noncommissioned officer in charge, with a life-altering opportunity.

ASK for aid with the JBLE Airmen Starter Kit

Moving off base for the first time can be stressful. Making a budget, finding a roommate, and viewing potential homes, while trying to balance work can quickly overload a person. Recognizing these factors, the 633d Civil Engineering Squadron airmen dorm leaders developed the Airman Starter Kit program to alleviate stress and lessen expenses by providing Airmen with free furniture kits.

Joint Base Langley-Eustis is the latest Air Force-led installation to engage in the Conservation Law Enforcement Partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The CLEP supports security improvement and public safety while also promoting resource conservation.

633d CES taking resiliency to a new level

In 2003, Hurricane Isabel flooded Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia as a Category 1 storm, causing a 7.9-foot storm surge, flooding the base for four days, catching the attention of many civil engineers. One of those engineers was Robert Barrett, 633d Civil Engineer Squadron chief of the engineer flight.

JBLE Langley to conduct annual mosquito spraying mission

The 757th Airlift Squadron assigned to Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, will conduct two aerial mosquito spray missions over Langley Air Force Base, Craney Island and a small portion of Portsmouth overnight Wednesday, July 26, 2023. If weather or mechanical issues force a cancellation, the flight will occur on Thursday, July 27.
