JBLE responds to fire on base
March 6, 2023 — At approximately 10:47 a.m., the JBLE-Langley Fire Department responded to a structural fire at Building 777 on Sweeney Blvd alongside partners from NASA Langley Research Center and the City of Hampton. All personnel in the affected facility and surrounding buildings have been accounted for; there are no hazardous exposures or injuries reported at this time. The scene is still active, and at this time all personnel should avoid the area of Sweeney Blvd between Thompson St and Plumb St. Traffic on base is being routed through Dodd Blvd in order to give responders room to work.
