F-22 Demo team flying in home skies

JBLE: Rebuilding, adapting, and overcoming

JBLE responds to fire on base

At approximately 10:47 a.m., the JBLE-Langley Fire Department responded to a structural fire at Building 777 on Sweeney Blvd alongside partners from NASA Langley Research Center and the City of Hampton. All personnel in the affected facility and surrounding buildings have been accounted for; there are no hazardous exposures or injuries reported at this time. The scene is still active, and at this time all personnel should avoid the area of Sweeney Blvd between Thompson St and Plumb St. Traffic on base is being routed through Dodd Blvd in order to give responders room to work. Once the fire is confirmed to be extinguished, the cause of the incident and the extent of its damage will be investigated.

U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds search for Hampton Roads "Hometown Hero"

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are looking for a "Hometown Hero" to fly in the backseat of an F-16 on Friday, May 5- the day before the Air Power Over Hampton Roads Air Show taking place May 6-7 at Langley AFB. Nominees should be a member of the Hampton Roads community who have had a major impact on the community in some way.

JBLE provides support to Türkiye after earthquake

Team JBLE mobilized large quantities of critically needed equipment to provide emergency humanitarian assistance in response to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Türkiye on Feb. 5, 2023, the worst earthquake to hit the region in almost a century.

JBLE maintains the flow of hydraulic mechanics

Hydraulics are required in all aviation airframes, from starting the aircraft, to landing gear, and the ability to overcome the aerodynamic feedback forces generated in flight. For the U.S. Army, this also requires a constant flow of Soldiers to pass through the 128th Aviation Brigade’s aircraft pneudraulics repairer, 15H military operational specialty (MOS), course at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. The 14-week long course provides Soldiers with the critical starting point to learn about pneudraulic systems, properties, and tools of the trade for the 15H, ultimately keeping helicopters mission ready.

633 MDG celebrates BSC week

The U.S. Air Force Medical Service celebrated Biomedical Sciences Corps Appreciation Week Jan. 23-27, 2023. Under the motto 'Diversity United,' the BSC is one of the most diverse corps in the Air Force Medical Service, with more than 2,400 officers, 5,800 enlisted members, and 1,000 civilians covering 13 distinct professions under one banner. Of these members, a total of 250 personnel hail from Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
