Airmen taking care of Airmen

The Air Force Assistance Fund campaign is quickly coming to an end. Langley's drive was scheduled to run from March 29 to May 7; however, we have extended the drive until May 20. The AFAF is an annual, on-the-job fundraising campaign conducted amongst Air Force personnel for the benefit of Airmen and their families. There are four charities included

Do you serve in the company of heroes?

One of my favorite scenes from "A Band of Brothers" is the story told at the end of the film when a World War II veteran was asked by his grandson if he was a hero in the war. His reply was no, but that he served in the company of heroes. That answer resonates with me and makes me think how lucky I am, and we all are, to serve in the company of

Exercise for the serious athlete

For those who exercise for more than 90 minutes per day, it is important to take nutrition habits seriously. Joint basing provides support equal to service

In January, Fort Eustis took the first formal steps toward joint basing when we activated the 733d Mission Support Group and Joint Base Langley-Eustis officially began Initial Operational Capability. Some base operations functions shifted to the 633d Air Base Wing staff in order to allow them to start functioning as a wing and provide staff

Standards: Are they just things we comply with at work?

Every job has standards or rules that govern what we do in that line of work and when we're going to do it. For those of us who've worn a uniform in our nation's armed forces, past or present, the standards are usually defined initially at Basic Military Training. As new recruits, we live and breathe these standards day and night; failure to do so
