Be a part of the safety initiative; Report it ASAP!

To keep up with today’s pace of technological evolution, a new platform was created for members of the JBLE community to report hazards and high-risk practices that occur on the installation. The Airman Safety Action Program, or ASAP, is an application that can be accessed through any computer or phone browser via https://asap.safety.af.mil or by using “Airman Safety App,” which can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Airmen of the 363rd ISRW take a leap of faith

Sitting on the small bench within the aircraft, surrounded by instructors and first-time jumpers, reality starts to set in. The aircraft elevates, getting colder and colder as we increase in altitude, causing the hair on my arms to stand up. As I look around at all the first-time jumpers, they all have the same expression; the expression that they too are coming to grips with the impending jump. We reach the necessary height and the red light by the door turns from red to green. The instructor taps my shoulder, letting me know that it’s time to stand up; it’s time to jump.

McDonald introduces pagers for long wait times

The McDonald Army Health Center pharmacy introduced 60 restaurant style pagers to better help with long lines and wait times June 15, 2020. The pagers expand the pharmacy’s threshold for the number of patients it can serve on a daily basis. The inside lobby holds 12 patients and up to six can be at the windows at any given time, along with 60 patients with pagers.

Airmen use innovation to help during COVID-19

Two U.S. Air Force 1st Fighter Wing Airmen use the 1st FW innovation lab to help wing personnel continue the mission during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lab provides resources to research and create masks that could then be distributed to personnel to help fight the spread of the virus.
