Civil Rights highlight

Thurgood Marshall ended legal segregation in the United States. Marshall won the most important legal case of the century, Brown v. Board of Education, terminating the legal separation of black and white children in public schools. This civil rights movement led to the increased numbers of African Americans that completed high school and then went off to complete college.
