The Media Operations section works to coordinate all media interviews, media queries and media access to Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

Media members visiting JBLE must be escorted by a Public Affairs representative at all times. Military members and civilian workers contacted by news media should liaise with the Public Affairs Office Media Operations section.

Obama appoints acting deputy defense secretary

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced Dec. 3 that President Barack Obama has appointed Christine H. Fox to serve as acting deputy defense secretary. Deputy Defense Secretary Ash Carter departs Dec. 4, and Fox is scheduled to assume her duties Dec. 5, making her the highest-ranking woman ever to serve in the Defense Department. Services spotlight: ITT holiday trips

The Information, Tickets and Tours office at Langley Air Force Base, Va., will host two holiday trips this season. The first trip will be to New York City Dec. 7, and the second will be to Williamsburg Dec. 8. The ITT Office provides recreational leisure activities for all Service members, their families, Department of Defense employees and retirees.
