JBLE announces restrictions to base access

Effective 1 April, JBLE will further limit installation access for Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis. This action is consistent with both the JBLE Public Health Emergency declaration issued on March 27th, and Governor Northam’s Stay-At-Home order issued on March 30th. To All Members and Families of Team JBLE, As many of you are aware the United States is now leading the world in the number of confirmed Corona cases.  The safety of our service members, families, and retirees is paramount while maintaining mission readiness and combat capability. In keeping with every possible effort to minimize community transmission across JBLE, I’ve determined that we need to further restrict access to the installation.

Running for remembrance

The Airman continues his run, the sound of his breathing eclipsed by the insects surrounding the track. It’s two in the morning and the only light is from the lamp posts lining the track. He disappears after he passes each light until he reaches the next post. He and the four other Airmen have already been running for 17 hours, only nine more to go.
