Hiring event for JBLE community

By Airman 1st Class Anthony Nin Leclerec 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Airman & Family Readiness Center and Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program will collaborate with the Hampton Roads Community Foundation to sponsor a live hiring event, May 2, 2017 at 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. at Christopher Newport University in Newport News.

The event is designed to provide service members transitioning out of the military, veterans and military spouses the opportunity to interview with hiring managers from various industries.

Registration for the event is free, but must be completed online no later than April 28, 2017 at 12 a.m.

A technology platform, developed by Futures Inc., will be used to pre-match registered participants with the employers participating in the event for a walk-in interview. Interview times will be scheduled to occur on the day of the event.

“This isn’t a job fair, it is an actual hiring event, when you register and submit your resume you are then matched with hiring employers,” said Flerida Taylor, A&FRC community readiness specialist.

The service members’ skills and occupational specialties will be matched to jobs of participating companies.

For more information or assistance with resume review, call A&FRC at 764-3990 or SFL-TAP at 878-2881 or Army Community Services 878-3638.
