Media members visiting JBLE must be escorted by a Public Affairs representative at all times. Military members and civilian workers contacted by news media should liaise with the Public Affairs Office Media Operations section.

1st FW Raptors, crew soar through flying hours
November 9, 2016 — The 1st Fighter Wing’s F-22 Raptors collectively reached their flying hour mark this fiscal year of more than 6,000 hours. For each fiscal year, the flying hour program tasks the number of hours pilots need to acquire in order to maintain proficient in combative flying, based on budgeting and the maximum number of sorties the wing is capable of producing. With limited resources available, the 1st FW completing the hours was an intricate balance between progression in maintenance and tactical logistics, which guided the Raptors to success. “We have to maximize each and every sortie flown to reach the highest level of combat readiness,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. WWII veteran visits Langley
November 9, 2016 — A World War II veteran and her family visited the 36th Intelligence Squadron and the 497th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group at Joint Base Langley- Eustis, Virginia, Nov. 8, 2016. Diabetes Awareness Month: education aids prevention
November 9, 2016 — According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes is growing at an epidemic rate in the U.S. In Virginia alone, 41,000 people are diagnosed with diabetes each year. Members of the health management clinics at the U.S. Air Force Hospital Langley and McDonald Army Health Center at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia are working to educate U.S. service members, retirees and family members of the risks and prevention of the disease year round, but especially during Diabetes Awareness Month. ...
