Media members visiting JBLE must be escorted by a Public Affairs representative at all times. Military members and civilian workers contacted by news media should liaise with the Public Affairs Office Media Operations section.

Hospital construction on schedule

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is on track to complete the construction of the $65 million addition to the 1st Fighter Wing Hospital here by summer 2009. The military construction project, a 145,000-square foot, multistory addition to the hospital, is 56 percent complete and within budget, said John Clark, Norfolk District project engineer. Mosquito aerial spraying scheduled for local area

The West Nile Virus was isolated in 1937 and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. The disease usually causes a mild inflammation of the brain, accompanied by fever, headache, body aches, vomiting, skin rash and swollen lymph glands.
