JBLE Airmen, Soldiers provide assistance to West Africa

Local school wins national award

Armstrong School for the Arts will be officially recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School on Nov. 10 in Washington. The Department of Education selects a small number of scholastically-elite schools to become National Blue Ribbon Schools. Out of 1,775 schools in Virginia, only 48 were eligible to become National Blue Ribbon Schools. Of those 48, seven schools, including Armstrong, received the recognition. (Courtesy Graphic)

Fiscal frenzy: Contracting, finance tackle end of fiscal year

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Ron Keen, 633rd Comptroller Squadron budget analyst, processes paperwork at Langley Air Force Base, Va., Sept. 24, 2014. During most of September, personnel at the 633rd Contracting and Comptroller Squadrons work 10 to 12 hours every day due to the end of the fiscal year.
