U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 73rd Transportation Company, 10th Trans. Battalion, 7th Trans. Brigade (Expeditionary) train and qualify on rear-towing procedures and techniques Nov. 5, 2018 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
The 73rd Trans. Co. maintains the only 800-series Large Tug boat in the Army, as well as two 900-series Small Tugs, a floating 100-ton Barge Derrick Crane and a 188k/gal Fuel Barge out of Third Port. To maintain each vessel, a crew consisting of a vessel master, chief engineer, five watercraft operators and four watercraft engineers.
