Media members visiting JBLE must be escorted by a Public Affairs representative at all times. Military members and civilian workers contacted by news media should liaise with the Public Affairs Office Media Operations section.

General Fraser takes command of ACC

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va.-- Gen. William M. Fraser III assumes command of the Air Combat Command by accepting the guidon from Gen. Norton A. Schwartz, who was Chief of Staff of the Air Force at the time, during the change of command ceremony here Sept. 10. General Fraser came from the Pentagon, where he served as the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff. He was selected to command ACC after Gen. John D.W. Corley announced his retirement in May. Beware of flash flooding, standing water

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- Beware of flash flooding, standing water. Although Langley isn't often affected by hurricanes, severe weather is expected throughout the summer months, and flash flooding is a dangerous byproduct of torrential downpours. Lt. Col. Matt Esper, 1st Fighter Wing Safety Office chief of safety, advises drivers to avoid driving through areas of standing water, as it may disable vehicles. Drivers cannot gauge how deep the water is and may be deeper than it appears. Also, drivers are advised to avoid driving through moving water.
