Wash rack gives F-22 clean bill of health
June 29, 2017 — In the proverb “For want of a nail,” a single nail missing eventually cost an army a war, symbolizing how not correcting a small issue can eventually lead to a castrophe. Army quartermaster: A vessel’s living compass
June 29, 2017 — After months at sea, the ocean starts to resemble the desert, but watching the sun rise and fall over the open ocean provides as much direction to him as he does for the ship. For U.S. Army Spc. Miguel Ruelas Trejo’s, 335th Transportation Detachment, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) quartermaster, the sunrise and sunset are his favorite things about working aboard the General Frank S. Besson-class logistics support vessel. “When you are out there and you don’t see land for a while, everywhere you look, 360-degrees, you see the same thing: the sky, clouds, the horizon and water,” said Ruelas Trejo. “That’s the view day in and day out.”... TRADOC leaders discuss Multi-Domain Battle, future Army during forum
June 29, 2017 — Senior leaders from U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command continued the Multi-Domain Battle discussion during the Association of the United States Army’s 35th annual Virginia Colonial Professional Forum at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, June 14 and 15. During the forum, local AUSA chapter members, along with industry representatives and the military met at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business to learn more about “Innovation and Collaboration: Keys to Modernizing for Multi-Domain Battle.” ... MORE

A better way to service through new fuel station
June 27, 2017 — The 733rd Logistics Readiness Squadron will gain another asset to their mission with a new fuel service station that will be built at Joint Base Langley-Eustis. Construction for the fuel station began early April, 2017 and the project is expected to be completed within 16 months. The service station will provide gasoline and E-85 diesel fuels for government vehicles, generators and flight equipment. ... MORE

1st FW keeps Airmen, F-22s covered
June 27, 2017 — While the 1st Fighter Wing is home to more than 1,300 Airmen and an abundance of aircraft reaching more than 12,000 flying hours each year, their top priority is the safety and well-being of those Airmen. With Airmen in mind, in April 2017, the 1st FW finished construction on 18 canvas-topped sun shelters. The shelters provide the maintainers, crew chiefs and ammunition Airmen protection from the sun. Also, they provide cover against the elements Virginia may throw their way to include rain, strong winds, hail, sleet and snow. No matter the weather conditions, the shelters help Airmen continue their work to keep the mission going. ... MORE
