9/11 Reading of the Names: Honor those who have fallen

The city of Hampton, Virginia, honored those lives lost in the terrorist attacks on 9/11 with the 18th annual “Reading of The Names” event at Gosnold Hope Park, Sept. 11, 2019. The event brought together U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 30th Intelligence Squadron, civic leaders and local residents to take part in honoring those heroes and additionally those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Eustis honors WWI and WWII veterans with mobile exhibit

To honor the legacy and sacrifice of World War I and World War II veterans, the U.S. Army Transportation Museum has partnered with The Virginia WWI and WWII Commemoration Commission to display the Profiles of Honor Mobile tour exhibit at the museum on Fort Eustis, scheduled for March 9 - 10, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Weapons load competition honors fallen Airmen

The 1st Maintenance Group hosted a Weapons Load Crew of the Quarter competition between the 27th and 94th Aircraft Maintenance Units, April 28, 2017. On this occasion, the quarterly competition, which gives Airmen from each AMU the opportunity to showcase their proficiency in loading aircraft munitions, held a deeper meaning as the weapons teams paid tribute to recently fallen Airmen: Senior Airmen Sara Toy and Austin Terrell, and Staff Sgt. Alexandria Morrow.
