JBLE Pilots conquer Water Survival Training

The 94th FS flies over the Washington D.C. WWI Memorial

Flying Freight Trains

F-22 Demo Team heads to Singapore to kick off 2020 season

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The Air Combat Command F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team will begin their 2020 show season at the Singapore Airshow, Feb. 11-16, 2020.

SERE-ious training

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape specialists are experts on how to survive in the most remote and hostile environments in the world. Along with teaching water survival courses, SERE specialists at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, train aircrew personnel on an array of skills from making a basic shelter to escaping an active pursuant.

U.S. Air Force Capt. Michelle Jilek, is a physical therapist assigned to the 633rd Medical Operations Squadron, but has been embedded part time with the 1st Fighter Wing to help increase mission effectiveness.

Fit to fight: one fighter wing at a time

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — As aviators know proper maintenance of aircraft is key to providing combat capabilities. Just as aircraft need to be maintained and ready to fly, optimizing the human weapon system is also critical. Pilots themselves must be healthy and ready to fight tonight. To ensure pilots are ready at a moment’s notice, the 1st Fighter Wing has embedded U.S. Air Force Capt. Michelle Jilek, a physical therapist with the 633rd Medical Operations Squadron to help increase mission effectiveness.

JBLE officers selected for Thunderbirds

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Two U.S. Air Force Airmen from Joint Base Langley-Eustis were selected through the exclusive process to fill slot number 6 as opposing solo pilot and no. 10, the team’s executive officer.

The 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 Lt. Col. Anthony C. Shine Fighter Pilot Award winners received engraved knives from Shine’s family during a ceremony at Langley Air Force Base, Va., Aug. 11, 2016. Langley hosts Shine award ceremony

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. — Pilots from across the U.S. Air Force gathered for the 2015 Lt. Col. Anthony C. Shine Fighter Pilot Award ceremony at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Aug. 11, 2016. The award is presented annually to recognize an exceptional U.S. Air Force fighter pilot who has proven excellence and professionalism in flight, as well as dedication to community service.
