Raptor bird bath: contract gives time back to the mission

The 1st Fighter Wing is responsible for one-third of the U.S. Air Force’s F-22 Raptors and the Airmen of the 1st Maintenance Group are responsible for maintaining them. However, in order to keep the aircraft mission ready, they must be washed regularly, taking time away from maintainers’ primary duties.

Innovating in virtual reality

U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 547th Intelligence Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, visited Joint Base Langley-Eustis Feb. 12, 2020, to showcase their virtual reality system. The 547th IS uses the VR system primarily for training aircrew and intelligence personnel through software that provides equipment familiarization, aircraft recognition and an overview of Red Flag exercise operations.

In order to operate at this capacity, the Ready Aircrew Program establishes the minimum number of live training events and simulator missions that aircrews must complete during the annual training cycle to maintain readiness. JBLE welcome new chiefs

The Langley Chiefs Group presented promotion line numbers to U.S. Air Force senior master sergeants at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Nov. 22, 2019. Across the Air Force, 530 senior master sergeants were selected for promotion to chief master sergeant out of 2,529.
