JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. - U.S. Army Spc. Justin Novak, 511th Engineer Dive Detachment diver, operates a hyperbaric chamber during an exercise at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, May 14, 2021. Also known as a recompression chamber, the machine allows for the treatment of diving casualties and also hyperbaric treatment schedules, which is vital in saving the lives of a diver with decompression sickness, arterial gas embolisms, and other diving related injuries.
