Scientific storytelling: Eustis archaeologists preserve ‘American experience’
The Matthew Jones House at Fort Eustis, Va., was built in 1700 and originally stood as a wooden structure with two rooms and a loft. Throughout the years, it was remodeled and expanded, and passed down through generations before the land was purchased by the U.S. government in 1918 in conjunction with World War I.
