633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs –
U.S. service members, Department of Defense civilian employees and local community leaders surrounding Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, welcomed the new 633rd Air Base Wing commander during a change of command ceremony June 20, 2019.
Before assuming command, U.S. Air Force Col. Clinton Ross served as the Air Combat Command Director of Manpower, Personnel & Services.
“It is an honor to accept the responsibility of serving as your commander,” said Ross. “Thank you to the 633d Air Base Wing and Joint Base Langley Eustis – I look forward to continuing a tradition of professionalism and excellence and working with you in the future.”
The presiding official, U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Chad Franks, Ninth Air Force commander, provided greetings and leadership advice to Ross.
“You owe the men and women of the 633rd Air Base Wing two things--discipline and purpose,” said Franks. “You must ensure that we remain a discipline force at all times…And you must always ensure your Airmen and Soldiers know their purpose….where they fit in the machine that makes the mission happen. ”
As well as welcoming a new commander, JBLE Airmen also bid farewell to U.S. Air Force Col. Sean Tyler.
“Two years ago on this stage I spoke about how excited I was to return to Hampton Roads for the third time in my career,” said Tyler. “I leave today with even stronger ties to the community and deeper feelings of appreciation for this area. It has been a true pleasure and honor to serve each and every one of you. I look forward to hearing of your continued successes in delivering Joint Base Installation Support.”
After his two-years at JBLE Tyler will move on to serve at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
