Langley's history, designed and built to last
August 24, 2016 — Diamonds, rectangles, squares and other intricate patterns adorn the exterior of numerous brick buildings on Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, which were designed and built when the installation was still called Langley Field. Industrial architect Albert Kahn was selected to design the installation in 1917, after funding approval and land acquisition for aeronautical research facilities, an aviation field and other infrastructure at Langley. According to the Air Combat Command historian office’s publication, “Langley, 1916-1996,” Kahn, one of the foremost architects in the country, visualized a unique architecture for Langley’s buildings and created striking exterior designs featuring intricate patterns of brickwork and tile. ... Serving those who serve: FSS offers resiliency through activity

IDRC: Airmen always remain ready
August 17, 2016 — All those who join the U.S. military serve with the understanding that they can be called upon to deploy at a moment’s notice. That is no exception to the U.S. Air Force Airmen stationed here. According to U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Kaitlin Mizner, Installation Deployment Readiness Center alternate installation officer, anyone can be tasked to deploy during their designated six-month deployment window and with as little as a 72-hour notice. August 17, 2016 — The 733rd Mission Support Group commander and command sergeant major held an introductory town hall for group personnel at Fort Eustis, Virginia, Aug. 9, 2016. After taking command of the 733rd MSG in June, Col.
