JBLE-based brigade supports joint mission to Puerto Rico October 30, 2017 — U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 597th Transportation Brigade, headquartered at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, connected with agency partners on Oct. 28 at TC Dock, located on the Joint Base Charleston Naval Weapons Station, to load supplies intended for the hurricane-battered island of Puerto Rico. Soldier leads All-Army Softball team to 6th-straight gold October 25, 2017 — A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to Joint Base Langley-Eustis recently returned from the U.S. Armed Forces Softball Tournament, hosted at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Sept. 18-22, 2017. U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class James Segrue, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command security NCO in charge, has made the All-Army team six times since his first tryout in 2009, and has led the team to victory for the past two years as team captain. The flightline can be a dangerous place as a recent visitor to JBLE learned the hard way. As he ventured closer to the most lethal fighter jet on the planet, this fellow flier was faced with his own mortality. This cautionary tale serves as a frightening reminder to always practice situational awareness.
Tonight, Fort Eustis hosted its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring carols performed by the TRADOC Band, local Girl Scouts, and the Woodside High School Select Women’s Ensemble. Santa and Mrs. Claus even paid the post a visit, wishing Happy Holidays to all!
