The Media Operations section works to coordinate all media interviews, media queries and media access to Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

Media members visiting JBLE must be escorted by a Public Affairs representative at all times. Military members and civilian workers contacted by news media should liaise with the Public Affairs Office Media Operations section.

JBLE responds to fire on base
March 6, 2023 — At approximately 10:47 a.m., the JBLE-Langley Fire Department responded to a structural fire at Building 777 on Sweeney Blvd alongside partners from NASA Langley Research Center and the City of Hampton. All personnel in the affected facility and surrounding buildings have been accounted for; there are no hazardous exposures or injuries reported at this time. The scene is still active, and at this time all personnel should avoid the area of Sweeney Blvd between Thompson St and Plumb St. Traffic on base is being routed through Dodd Blvd in order to give responders room to work. March 19, 2020 — Joint Base Langley-Eustis is currently monitoring one positive case of COVID-19, a medical provider assigned to McDonald Army Health Center at Fort Eustis, who recently returned from travel out of the country.
