Heart Link program empowers spouses to succeed

— After a loved one joins the military, their spouse and family members may need assistance in learning how to navigate through the unique aspects of a military lifestyle. Established in May 2001, and funded by the Air Force Aid Society, the Heart Link Spouse Orientation Program helps to empower spouses and family members by providing community services and resources to enhance mission readiness. According to Robyn Wilson, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Airman and Family Readiness Center community readiness consultant, the program which is referred to as Air Force 101 for spouses, provides attendees with an opportunity to learn, network, become familiar with on and off-base resources and to have fun. ...

— Oil change vouchers, free child care, interest-free loans, scholarship grants and personalized financial reviews are just a few of the invaluable resources available to Airmen and their families through the Air Force Aid Society. Established in 1942 as the official charity of the U. S. Air Force, the AFAS, located in Arlington, Virginia, promotes the Air Force mission by helping Airmen and their families with personal emergencies, educational goals and other programs to improve readiness.
