Cyber security awareness protects against threats
October 19, 2016 — This month marks the 13th Annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which is a collaborative effort to ensure everyone has the resources they need to stay safe when using the internet. This initiative was designed to engage and educate both the government and public users with the goal of raising awareness about cyber security. Blue Aces, Salem veterans make therapeutic music
October 11, 2016 — For the first time a section of the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band participated in a collaborative music therapy program with veterans at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, here. After nearly a year of planning, the Blue Aces packed up their vans to make the trip to the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, to see all of the hard work come into play and begin collaborating with patients at the center. ... Express Scripts Pharmacy Network Changing for TRICARE Beneficiaries
October 11, 2016 — Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI) today announced upcoming changes to the retail pharmacy network it manages on behalf of TRICARE. On Dec. 1, 2016, Walgreens pharmacy locations will join the network. CVS pharmacies, including those in Target stores, will leave the network on the same day. The new network will have more than 57,000 locations nationwide, and ensures TRICARE beneficiaries have timely access to retail pharmacies in their community... MORE

Kids Move helps fight obesity
September 28, 2016 — September is Childhood Obesity Awareness Month and one in three children in the U.S. are overweight or obese. A survey of the data for McDonald Army Health Center in 2010 showed a similar prevalence of overweight and obesity in our military dependent children. The U.S. military needs volunteers to be healthy enough to answer the call for military service, but with more than 12.7 million overweight and obese children and teenagers in the U.S. the ability to meet this call is in jeopardy. ... Uplifting event provides breast cancer awareness
September 28, 2016 — According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. However, due to better treatment options, there are more than 2.8 million breast cancer survivors thriving in the U.S. today. Since the month of October is dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness, hosting a fundraiser, organizing a bake sale or running for a loved one in an awareness run are all common events.
