First Sergeants get down to business

Langley First Sergeant Council members took part in an annual off-site event Aug. 4 through Aug. 6 as a way to reconnect and network with fellow first sergeants. “It’s really important that we do this every year, so we can go over our bi-laws to make sure we’re on the right track, vote for our new council and spend some quality time getting to know each other,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Richard Chwalik, 633rd Security Forces Squadron first sergeant and Langley First Sergeants Council’s newest president.

Defenders, Operation Nighthawk keep Langley safe

U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 633rd Security Forces Squadron conducted a 100 percent vehicle inspection and military urinalysis test on all oncoming commuters here, July 23 and 24. The event, titled “Operation Nighthawk,” used the Shellbank Fitness Center to inspect more than 200 vehicles and 300 individuals entering Langley Air Force Base between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.
