Soldiers fire Howitzer rounds from LCM-8 for first time since the Vietnam War
Soldiers from the Virginia Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery Regiment, fire a 105mm round in a 1119 Howitzer from a U.S. Army Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM-8) Watercraft Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 25, 2019. Of 20 rounds fired, 17 hit their intended target. The three that were off target were grouped tightly and were considered to be off due to the 14 knot North Eastern Wind gust during the fire mission.
