Local government officials from the city of Hampton, Virginia the National Technical Association, the Sankofa Projects, unveiled a historical park bench marker in Katherine G. Johnson’s honor at Carousel Park in downtown Hampton on August 26, 2016. In 2017 there will be a biopic film released highlighting her life and work at NASA. ( U.S. Air Force photo by Tetaun Moffett)
