Entomology manages mosquitoes and brings in the bees
The 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron entomology shop keeps bee hives to gauge and study the rise and fall of the local bee population at Langley Air Force Base, Va. The entomology shop sprays a pesticide designed to exterminate mosquitos in an effort to prevent mosquito-borne diseases from infecting the local area. The shop keeps bees to observe whether or not the pesticide affects their population and activity. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Devin Scott Michaels/Released)
