JBLE honors military women during Women's Equality Month
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Felicia Singleton is an F-15 stock control journeyman assigned to the 438th Supply Chain Operations Squadron at Langley Air Force Base, Va. The Savannah, Ga., native supplies parts for F-15 Eagles to bases across the globe. Singleton said she joined the Air Force because she “always looked up to the military,” calling military service honorable, and saying that she wants “to give back to a such a great country that’s given us so many opportunities.” Singleton is currently pursuing a bachelor of science in chemistry, and aspires to eventually complete medical school and work as a surgeon. She said seeing the military open more opportunities to women is encouraging, and maintained “women can do anything they set their minds to,” overcoming personal obstacles and breaking down barriers set for them by society.
