The late Dr. (Capt.) Humphrey Harwood Curtis Jr., a Confederate Army doctor, was laid to rest between what is now the third and fourth hole of the Pines Golf Course at Fort Eustis, Va. Due to a lack of records or individuals able to identify the location, many historians believed his grave was on the golf course couldn't verify the location until May 2001 when archaeologists identified the cemetery.
