LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- A Purple Heart, grouped with other medals, is shown on the jacket of retired Lt. Col. Wayne Porter during his tour of Langley with fellow POWs during special activities for POW/MIA Recognition Day Sept. 19. Mr. Porter is a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was shot down over Munich, Germany on Oct. 4 1944 and liberated on April 29 1945. He currently serves as the adjutant for the James L.
