SERE Water Survial Training
LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- A MH-60J Jayhawk flies over the water to hoist Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape students up from the water during their water survival training here Aug. 25. The survival training, conducted by SERE specialists, teaches students how to survive if they egress over water. The course also covers proper signaling, desalinating water, finding sustenance and how to properly release from a parachute drag. Pilots are required to complete water survival training every three years. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Zachary Wolf)
