Master Sgt. Bill Pook, then a 19-year-old Airman, poses next to an F-4 Phantom at Udorn Air Base, Thailand, in 1972. Sergeant Pook entered the Air Force in 1971 and served two deployments to Thailand in support of Operation Linebacker. He left the Air Force after one enlistment then reentered in 1990 in support of Operation Desert Shield.
