West Nile Virus and Mosquito Control
The West Nile Virus was isolated in 1937 and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. The disease usually causes a mild inflammation of the brain, accompanied by fever, headache, body aches, vomiting, skin rash and swollen lymph glands. However, the vast majority of people develop no symptoms. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Tim Chacon)
