Behind the name: Crawford Hall, father of the AF song
Crawford Hall at Langley Air Force Base, Va., is named after Robert Macarthur Crawford, father of the Air Force song. The song was chosen from more than 700 entrees during a contest in 1938, held by then Brig. Gen. Henry H. “Hap” Arnold and Bernarr MacFadden. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Airman 1st Class R.
