Building blocks of Virginia's industrial past nestled deep in Eustis' woods
Remains of a steam engine (left) and a boiler from the Davis and Kimpton Brickyard rest in the woods at Training Area #23 on Fort Eustis, Va., Sept. 14, 2012. The brickyard, which operated from 1898 to the early 1900's, used these machines to power a series of lines and pulleys, which automated much of the brick-making process.
