Building blocks of Virginia's industrial past nestled deep in Eustis' woods
A rusted pug mill (left) and disintegrator from the Davis and Kimpton Brickyard rest in the woods at Training Area #23 on Fort Eustis, Va., Sept. 14, 2012. The disintegrator was used to grind clay and elements to a uniform consistency, while the pug mill shaped and cut the materials into bricks, before being fired in a nearby kiln.
