NASA Landing and Impact Research Facility: To the moon and beyond
Test mannequins are used at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Langley Research Center Landing and Impact Research Facility in Hampton, Va. The NASA research team uses state-of-the-art analysis to model crashes, determining structural integrity and identify the “crash pulse,” or the time it takes for the tested object to decelerate after impact.
