Duty Title:

Hometown:
Hatboro, Penn.

Time in Service:
Active-duty Air Force 14 years, AF Reserve 3 years

Describe your deployed duty and the tools you use to accomplish it:
This location is multifaceted, not only am I an EMT but I also run labs, shoot X-rays, and give immunizations. I also do ambulance runs around the base and respond to in-flight emergencies on the flightline. I went to EMEDS training as well as IBT training prior to deploying. I received OJT on Lab and Radiology procedures. We also teach CPR and patient movement to the locals.

What do you bring to the fight? ?) I feel as though as medics we have the ability to adapt and conform to our environment to complete the mission. I believe my versatility and open mind are my main contributions to the completion of the mission.

What are your overall thoughts and opinions about your mission there?
I feel like this deployment is what you make it, there overall mission is not a busy one, but there are plenty of opportunities to venture out of your comfort zone and learn new things. There is also a very large humanitarian effort at Manas.
