FORT EUSTIS, Va. –
The CP26 roadshow is one avenue used by the Career Program to reach out to careerists in the field. This year, the CP26 Roadshow has been to West Point, New York and Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Rounding out FY16, the CP26 Proponency Office will travel to Germany to meet with careerists at U.S. European Command and U.S. Army Europe.
“There are probably not many resources out there, whether it’s in the private sector or other career programs, that lay it out like this,” said Matt Page, TRADOC operations research systems analyst. “The resume piece was very helpful. For me, trying to sit there and write about myself in almost a bragging way can be difficult, so to see different points of view and ideas people have to enhance my resume is always super helpful.”
According to their website, TRADOC designs the future Army through developing cutting-edge concepts and innovative capabilities, builds the Army by finding the one percent who are willing to serve and using its talented drill sergeants, instructors and world-class facilities to turn them into the Trusted Professionals and develops adaptive and resilient leaders through rigorous professional military education and by infusing the Army’s doctrine and values into every Soldier.
The day prior to the roadshow, the CP26 Proponecy Office held one-on-one career counseling sessions with their careerists at TRADOC.
“The career counseling was great,” said Page. “I didn’t think it would be as in-depth as it was. To know that I can make a call up to the Proponency Office and talk to them and get that same motivational talk and get the ideas flowing again is absolutely awesome.”
Career Program 26 is responsible for all training and development for their civilian community of 3,200 employees. Manpower and Force Managers play a critical role in designing Army organizations.
