FORT EUSTIS, Va. –
For Soldiers in the 7th Sustainment Brigade, Special Troops Battalion, being able to share in experiences like a formation run, relay races with leadership and hearing the commander's message is the power behind the push.
To help facilitate that experience, U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the battalion came together for a quick-paced formation run Oct. 4.
Whether a marathon or a mile, a run is always an opportunity to bring Soldiers together, said U.S. Army Lt. Col. Noah Cloud, 7th Sustainment Brigade, Special Troops Battalion commander.
Cloud invited base leadership out for the run, including U.S. Army Col. William Galbraith, 733rd Mission Support Group commander, and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Jesse Sharpe, 733rd MSG command sergeant major. Cloud and Galbraith shared a mutual enjoyment for running while in Afghanistan.
"I knew he would enjoy running with Soldiers and it would allow him the opportunity to reach out and connect with his team," said Cloud.
Cloud, who took over as commander of the battalion a year ago, said inviting leadership out to runs like this is the face-time needed for strong relationships and creates trust for a successful organization.
"It's a great way to build a team that is dependent on each other," said Cloud.
