Update: Route 105 Bridge construction: Fort Eustis travelers encouraged to find alternate route

By 1st Lt Brooke Betit 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Developments in the Route 105 Bridge and Fort Eustis Boulevard construction site are expected to affect traffic flow Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Contractors have announced beam delivery to the Route 105 Bridge construction site, which will cause traffic to stop periodically as the beams are off-loaded and put into place.

Mark Junghans, 733rd Mission Services Division Emergency Management branch chief, recommended Fort Eustis personnel plan accordingly and seek alternate routes to alleviate traffic congestion and delays during this time.

Alternate routes are:
East or west arrival and departure onto Warwick Boulevard to and from the main gate or the use of Gate 2, Shellbarger Road during this period.
