When is Langley going to host another air show?

"Ask the JBLE Commander" is a forum for the Joint Base Langley-Eustis community to ask questions, provide feedback and voice concerns about Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis directly to Col. John J. Allen, Jr., the 633rd Air Base Wing commander.

Question: When is Langley going to have another Air Show? My family really enjoys them and you haven't had one in years! It's really sad we can't even come see the planes that fly over our homes every day.

  Response:

Regretfully, AirPower over Hampton Roads was cancelled for 2014. However, there is a chance to see the Air Force's fifth-generation fighter perform this year. The F-22 Raptor will perform an aerial demonstration at the annual Patriotic Festival, May 30, 31 and June 1, along the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Part of the Raptor's demo will include a Heritage Flight, when if flies with two WWII-era fighters, P-51 Mustangs. Please check back in mid-December to see what Langley's plans are for 2015. Thank you for your interest and support.
