'Ask the JBLE Commander' serves as virtual 'open-door policy' to base leadership

By Senior Airman Jason J. Brown 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

U.S. Air Force Col. John J. Allen, Jr., 633rd Air Base Wing commander, wants to hear from you.

The "Ask the JBLE Commander" program is the vehicle for members of the community, whether Service members and families, civilian employees, retirees, or those unaffiliated with the military, to raise concerns and ask the installation commander questions.

The program allows users to digitally send their questions or concerns through the JBLE website or JBLE mobile app. The commander fields the questions and provides answers, which are then posted publicly on the JBLE website.

"This program serves as a virtual 'open-door policy' for our community to communicate with me and the staff," Allen said. "We aim to continue building the trust of our community, both inside and outside the gates."

Users are encouraged to utilize their chain of command to resolve issues at the lowest level possible, but Allen welcomes any and all suggestions or inquiries, as it promotes an "appropriate transparency" of JBLE's leadership to its community.

"We want everyone to know their voice is not only heard, but important to us," the colonel said. "When our community raises concerns, we're dedicated to getting them the information they need, and if applicable, working to resolve outstanding issues."

Those who do not have access to the JBLE website or prefer traditional communication may also send their question or concern to the 633rd ABW Public Affairs office, who will route the message to the 633rd ABW commander.
