Will the commissary on Fort Eustis open on Mondays?

"Ask the JBLE Commander" is a forum for the Joint Base Langley-Eustis community to ask questions, provide feedback and voice concerns about Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis directly to Col. John J. Allen, Jr., the 633rd Air Base Wing commander.

Question: I would like to know if the commissary on Fort Eustis will open on Mondays? It is a major undertaking these days to go to the commissary, since Fort Monroe closed. Having Monday open could ease the crowding during the other days.

  Response:

The commissary hours are decided by the Defense Commissary Agency. Please see their response below. I would also like to offer our Langley commissary as an alternative for your Monday shopping.

From Mr. Richard Brink, DeCA: Thanks for your question about the Fort Eustis Commissary hours of operation. Commissary hours and days of operations are determined based on customer traffic, store operations and budgetary resources. The Fort Eustis Commissary doesn't meet criteria to be open seven days a week and the analysis of customer transactions shows that its hours of operation are appropriately suited to accommodate the majority of customers. There are times when customer traffic is less, and the store's customer service manager or Store Director Dennis Pimento would be glad to discuss with you times that may be more convenient for you to shop.

Their contact information is on the store's Web page, available here.
