Cadet Command looking for Professors of Military Science

The U.S. Army Cadet Command Professor of Military Science (PMS) Centralized Selection Board will convene at Army Human Resources Command at Fort Knox, Kentuck, Aug. 26-29, 2014.

Selected officers can expect to report for duty before the start of the 2015-2016 academic year.

Army Human Resources Command and Cadet Command are holding a colonel- and promotable lieutenant colonel-level board in conjunction with the lieutenant colonel-level PMS board for active-duty colonels and promotable lieutenant colonels interested in being considered for PMS selection.

Active-duty colonels and promotable lieutenant colonels interested in being considered by the PMS selection board must possess master's or higher degrees no later than May 31, 2014; must have recently served in tactical/operational units; must have broad experience in command and staff positions; must demonstrate the moral attributes and personal traits to serve in a position of prestige in an academic environment; must meet Army standards of military bearing and appearance (AR 600-9); and must be able to serve a three-year tour.

Each volunteer must be eligible to reloacate for the summer of 2015. Officers should update their Officer Record Briefs and DA photos, and ensure their undergraduate and graduate transcripts are in their Official Military Personnel Files, no later than July 1. Active-duty and active Guard/Reserve lieutenant colonels, promotable majors, and majors interested in being considered by the PMS selection board must possess master's or higher degrees no later than May 31, 2014; must have completed ILE/Command and General Staff College; must have served in tactical/operational units; must have broad experience in command and staff positions; must demonstrate the moral attributes and personal traits to serve in a position of prestige in an academic environment; must meet Army standards of military bearing and appearance (AR 600-9); and must be able to serve a three-year tour.

Each volunteer must be eligible to relocate for the summer of 2015. Officers should update their Officer Record Briefs and DA photos, and ensure their undergraduate and graduate transcripts are in their Official Military Personnel Files no later than July 1. Officers meeting these qualifications must provide their branch assignment officers their preference sheets not later than July 1, to begin the PMS board process.
