JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
U.S. Army Soldiers from the 612th Movement Control Team, 53rd Transportation Battalion, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), departed for a deployment after a ceremony at Fort Eustis, July 19.
The "War Machines" deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kevin M. Baird, commander of the 53rd Trans. Bn., 7th Trans. Bde. (Ex), shared remarks with the departing Soldiers, and their family and friends.
"The Soldiers are going to take on a very significant mission as the U.S. conducts a historic transformation from their current operations in Afghanistan," Baird said. "To the Soldiers of 612th [MCT], represent us well when you go forward. Focus on the mission. Be the expert and execute your mission well. First and foremost, take care of each other."
