JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
The Joint Base Langley-Eustis School Age Program was recently acknowledged by U.S. Army Col. William Galbraith, 733rd Mission Support Group commander, for attaining 2014 accreditation by the Council on Accreditation, and achieving the highest standards of professional practice for before- and afterschool services.
The program received a four-year accreditation after an extensive, yearlong self-study process that measured the program and services against COA standards.
Richard Klarberg, COA president and CEO, noted this as an especially "amazing achievement" because the program was expedited through the Pre-Commission Report process as a result of not receiving a single out-of-compliance rating in any of the fundamental practice or core standards.
"I could not be more proud of the efforts put forth by the JBLE School Age Program management and staff for their achievement," said Donna Fontes, Soldier and Family Services branch chief. "It is a testament to their dedication in leading the national effort to invest in high-quality before- and afterschool services and programs, ensuring JBLE children receive the best possible care and community support."
